Responsibilities:

• Prepare and lay out sterilized equipment, dental instruments,anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials inside treatment roomsfor examinations and dental procedures
• Ensure dental office infection control policies and safetyregulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipmentand instruments after use
• Measure and document vital signs and update medical history forpatients
• Assist dentists and dental hygienists during any procedures orexaminations by handing off dental instruments, providing suction,and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team
• Answer any questions the patient may have about dental hygiene,schedule appointments for patient care follow up, and providepostoperative instructions with methods for infection control ofthe patients’ teeth and gums, after procedures

Qualifications:

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification or RDA statelicense by the Dental Assisting National Board’s (DANB)
• Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience as a registereddental assistant or certified dental assistant
• Computer skills and experience with dental software andupdating patient histories is needed
• Associate’s Degree or a certification from a college ortechnical school training program accredited by the Commission onDental Accreditation is required
• Strong interpersonal skills, customer service, organization,and excellent communication skills are essential
