Role:
TheDental Assistant prepares and maintains all clinical areas foroptimal patient treatment, assists chair-side during treatment ofpatients, ensures that equipment is maintained in operating orderand meets standards for health and safety, and implements properand current infection control duties as per agency procedures andprotocol. Hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30
PMResponsibilities:
Reviews medical chart with provider, performsintake on the patient and documents in Electronic Dental Record(EDR) following protocols. Prepares all clinical areas fortreatment planned each session Provides chairside assistance toDentists in all procedures in accordance with training. Entersrelevant patient information into EDR in accordance with trainingand protocol. Provides post op instructions to patients regardingtheir procedures. Implements daily infection control procedures incompliance with CDC and/or state specific infection controlpractices. As directed, or in accordance with state law and HHSIprotocol, exposes radiographs and duplicates radiograph whennecessary Performs routine maintenance on equipment. Maintainschecklists and logs on equipment, oxygen tanks, eyewash stations,code bags as required by HHSI protocol. Enters data and maintainsthe electronic lab log tracking all dental prosthetic cases inaccordance with protocol and training. Prepares all clinical areasfor clinic closing in accordance with protocol. Provides guidanceand support to Dental Assistants in training as needed. Monitorsinventory and ensures that inventory is maintained by followingestablished protocols.
Requirements:
High School Diploma withcourse work in business, biology and some chemistry, DentalAssisting Certification from an accredited program preferredCurrent Massachusetts Dental Assisting License required RadiologyCertification required or verification from BORID (Board ofRegistration in Dentistry) of approval to take Radiographs andcurrent BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)certification required Computer literate; Basic understanding ofthe Windows operating system and Microsoft 365 applications,including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams Bilingual a plus!(English and Portuguese or Spanish) All qualified applicants willreceive consideration for employment without regard to race, color,religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationalorigin, disability or veteran status. •$500 on hire and $500 after90 days in good standing, former employees of HHSI noteligible)
