The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills to provide exceptional patient care. This is not traditional four handed dentistry. It is less demanding than that, and unlike chairside assisting, this job is easy on the back, neck, and shoulders. We will teach you everything you need to know. As an Orofacial Pain Assistant, you will play a vital role in alleviating painful temporomandibular joint (TMJ) related symtoms such as jaw pain, ear pain, headache pain, and neck pain. Responsibilities You will be trained to assist the doctor during various procedures, including examinations, injections, insertion of mandibular stabilization splints, and the application of therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and Class 4 laser therapy. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. You will be trained to educate patients regarding TMJ self-care practices and post-treatment care. You will be trained to assist in maintaining accurate patient records using medical software. (Athenahealth software) Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed. Adhere to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Requirements Working knowledge of medical or dental assisting is essential. Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Previous experience as a receptionist or in medical coding is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. A commitment to providing high-quality patient care and maintaining confidentiality.
