Dental Assistant/Front Desk Dad and Doc Dental Winston-Salem, NC 27107 • Hybrid work Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant/Front Desk Person to join our dynamic dental team. This is a hybrid position with time split between assisting and front office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. You will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized environment. A strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and dental insurance is essential for success in this position. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Take and record vital signs as needed, maintaining accurate patient records. Utilize Open Dental software for managing patient information and scheduling appointments. Perform medical imaging tasks, including X-rays and other diagnostic imaging as required. Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage patient flow and scheduling effectively. Operate 3D scanners for advanced imaging when necessary. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant. Proficiency in dental terminology and dental insurance is essential. Familiarity with Open Dental software is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control practices within a dental clinic setting. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory. A willingness to learn new techniques and technologies in dentistry.
