II or CDA certified, or on-the-job training equivalent. Also, North Carolina x-ray certification is a must. High on our list of qualifications are excellent communication skills, highly motivated, reliable, and organized team player, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with not only co-workers but also patients of all ages. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Greet patients in waiting area and escort them to the operatory Assist the dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directed by the dentist Assist Hygiene as needed Assist with sterilization and turning over rooms as needed Promote an atmosphere supportive of good dental and general health by demonstrating good oral hygiene, questioning patients to ascertain home care status, instructing patients in techniques of flossing and brushing in accordance with protocol Maintain a sterile and neat working environment according to current infection control procedures Review the health history, make chart entries, and assure completion of forms and signatures Assume the responsibility associated with any expanded duties that may be delegated by the dentist Review daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments
