Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures
• Take and develop dental X-rays
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
• Take and record vital signs of patients
• Perform patient assessments and document medical history
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation
• Assist with dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, and cleanings
• Utilize electronic health record systems (such as Epic) for patient charting
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed at all times

Skills:

• Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and operating X-ray equipment
• Knowledge of dental systems and procedures
• Ability to accurately take and record vital signs of patients
• Strong patient assessment skills to identify any oral health issues or concerns
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
• Experience in documenting medical information accurately and efficiently
• Excellent dental assisting skills, including chairside assistance during procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as Epic, for efficient charting
• Understanding of infection control protocols and ability to maintain a clean and safe environment
