Position Summary As a Front Desk Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both the clinical and administrative needs of our patients and dental team. Your primary focus will be to assist our doctors and hygienists in delivering exceptional patient care, including chairside support, patient education, sterilization, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, this position is hybrid in nature, meaning you may also be required to support front office operations as needed. This includes duties such as appointment scheduling, greeting patients, managing phone calls, verifying insurance, and maintaining a smooth patient flow at the front desk. Your flexibility and willingness to step into both clinical and administrative roles will be essential to ensuring the overall efficiency and success of the dental practice. Duties and Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC guidelines in both clinical and administrative areas. Maintain inventory control for clinical operatories and front office supplies, ensuring necessary materials are stocked and organized. Deliver exceptional patient interactions by managing appointment scheduling, treatment follow-up, post-surgical communication, and accurate recordkeeping. Serve as the first point of contact for patients at the front desk, providing a warm and welcoming experience while managing phone calls, check-ins, and inquiries. Coordinate patient flow and financial activities at the front desk, including processing paperwork, collecting payments, verifying insurance, and updating patient records. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of public and reception areas, ensuring a professional and comfortable environment. Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during a variety of procedures, demonstrating knowledge of dental instruments and proper clinical protocols. Support specialty procedures including oral surgery, prosthodontics, and dental implantology. Perform basic lab duties such as taking impressions, pouring models, taking dental x-rays, and preparing cases for external labs. Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency of the office and organization.
Qualifications Required :
High School diploma or GED. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and systems. Licensed to take dental x-rays in the state of employment required Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in scheduling.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a dental front office. 1+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant. Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification. Experience assisting with both restorative and surgical dental procedures. Willingness to train and assist in surgical procedures; prior surgical assisting experience is a plus Knowledge and Skills/Expected Competencies Knowledge of dental instruments and patient care. Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public. Excellent organization, prioritization, follow up, analytical and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with digital workflow and imaging technology (CBCT, intraoral scanners) Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental environment.
