The ideal candidate will work closely with pediatric patients, providing support to the dental team while ensuring a comfortable and friendly environment for children. This role requires a blend of technical skills and a caring demeanor to help young patients feel at ease during their dental visits. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Take medical imaging, including X-rays, while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients and their parents on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care. Manage infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. Utilize 3D scanning technology as needed for treatment planning. Monitor vital signs of pediatric patients when necessary. Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Requirements Knowledge of anatomy related to dental health is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology and dental systems is preferred. Previous experience in a dental assisting role is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong understanding of infection control practices in a clinical setting. Ability to work well with children, demonstrating patience and empathy. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, parents, and team members. Certification in CPR or First Aid is a plus.
