Overview:

We are seeking a personable, caring Dental Assistant to join our general dentistry team in Sayville NY. 2 years chairside assisting experience preferred but willing to train a motivated individual who is interested in a long term growth opportunity at our office. The ideal candidate will assist the dentists during a variety of treatment procedures and help ensure excellent patient care.

Duties:

• Prepare patients for dental work
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records
• maintain inventory of dental supplies and patient lab cases

Skills:

The following skills are required or nice-to-have for this role:

• Proficiency in taking vital signs reviewing medical updates
• Knowledge of dental records management
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques
• Ability to help our dental receptionist when needed, example answer phone calls take messages, if time allows.
• maintain dental office supplies and review inventory.
• Familiarity with Dentrix software, but not required.
• Understanding of dental coding principles, but not required
• Knowledge of general dentistry procedures!!!!
• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques!
