Job Description
Dental Assistant Private Dental Office Radnor, PA 19087 Overview As a dental assistant, you will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, and help the dentist during patient examinations and other dental procedures. Between patients, you will clean the exam rooms and replenish supplies. When not working with patients, you will also assist with administrative tasks, including answering the phone and organizing patient records as needed. It is important to adhere to integrity and professionalism in all interactions. Key Responsibilities Assist dentists during dental procedures, including but not limited to implants, fillings, extractions, cleanings, bone grafts, and root canals. Prepare treatment rooms for patient appointments, ensuring rooms are clean, organized, and fully equipped with necessary instruments and supplies. Review patient visit details and be aware of treatment to be rendered before each visit and plan ahead of time of the needed preparation so the visit is seamless and successful Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment and cabinets in the dental operatory in accordance with established infection control protocols. Take and develop dental x-rays as instructed by dentists. Provide chairside assistance to dentists by passing instruments, suctioning, and offering oral hygiene instructions to patients. Accurately take and record patients’ medical and dental histories. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Cross-train for front desk administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, maintaining patient records, submitting claims, and working with insurance providers. Order and maintain inventory of dental supplies and materials. Undertake lab tasks as instructed- prepare models, lab tracking and entry of cases upon sending and receiving into the PMS Uphold infection control and safety standards as per regulatory guidelines.
