Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a to add a experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing team in West Ashley. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting the dentist during various dental procedures and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. Your knowledge of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and patient care will contribute to the overall success of our dental practice. You must LOVE working with kids!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures. Experience coronal polishing and placing sealants is preferred
- Take dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring impressions
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide post-operative instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medical histories
- Manage patient flow within the dental office
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred or 2 years chairside dental experience
- X-Ray certification and CPR certification preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficient using Eaglesoft
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record patient information We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
