Experienced Dental Assistant Needed! … 20/hr Sun Dental Lancaster, SC 29720 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience in four-handed dentistry and a strong understanding of infection control protocols. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize clinic operations.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures with appropriate techniques for young patients. Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and familiarity with medical documentation systems such as Epic is a plus.
- Understanding of infection control practices and ability to implement them effectively.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond to patient needs compassionately.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining patient records.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is desirable but not mandatory.
