Dental Assistant
Northern Counties Health Care is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dedicated team at Orleans Dental Center in Orleans, VT. As a key member of our dental care team, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to deliver high-quality care, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and preparing necessary setups.
Take x-rays, impressions, and assist in creating and seating/cementing temporary restorations.
Support the dental hygienist as needed and contribute to patient education.
Prepare solutions, pour dental models, and construct mouth guards and fluoride trays.
Maintain accurate documentation of clinical activities and relevant patient information.
Clean and sterilize instruments, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
Participate in the ongoing quality assurance process, assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of dental service protocols.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental lab area.

Qualifications:
Education:

High School diploma or GED required. Completion of a certified course in Dental Radiography is preferred. CPR/BLS certification required.

Experience:

One year of experience in a supervised dental practice setting preferred.

Skills:

Proficiency in computer skills, including email functions, spreadsheets, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment are essential.
