Children’s Dental Hygiene Specialist Pediatric Dentistry of Litchfield County 148 Migeon Avenue, Torrington, CT 06790 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a friendly and supportive environment. This role involves performing dental hygiene procedures, educating patients and their families about oral health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for young patients. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review and oral examinations. Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments tailored for pediatric patients. Educate children and their parents on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with clinic protocols. Implement infection control measures and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients. Utilize Dentrix software for patient management, scheduling, and documentation review. Assist the dental team with various tasks as needed to enhance patient care within the clinic setting. Requirements Valid dental hygiene license in the state of practice. Experience or training in pediatrics is preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of infection control protocols. Familiarity with documentation review processes and medical coding is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children and their guardians. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care.
