Part-time Hygienist South Tampa Tampa, FL 33629 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice part time every Friday 7-7 and Saturday 8-2. The office is very busy and is ideal for a hygienist looking to make extra money, or just looking for some hours. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and effective communication with both patients and the dental team. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy to maintain optimal oral health for patients. Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and evaluating oral health conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information. Collaborate with the dental team to implement effective treatment plans and improve patient outcomes. Stay updated on medical terminology, dental assisting practices, and medical coding to ensure seamless communication within the team. Skills Proficient in working within a dental office environment with a strong understanding of dental systems. Ability to assess patient needs effectively and provide compassionate care. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry is essential. Experience in dental assisting is a plus, enhancing overall patient care delivery. Strong communication skills to educate patients about their oral health effectively.
