Hygienist TDN Dentistry PLLC Lakewood Ranch, FL
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As the initial point of contact for patients at our dental clinic, our Dental Hygienist plays a pivotal role in ensuring a positive and informative experience. This position involves comprehensive patient screening, providing essential education on the impact of diet on oral health, and offering compassionate counseling throughout and following treatment. Additionally, Dental Hygienists are skilled in performing minor dental procedures, including thorough cleaning of teeth and gums, plaque removal, and denture repairs. This role is integral to maintaining high standards of patient care and contributing to the overall success of our dental practice.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Counselling patients and keeping them calm during examination and treatment. Screening patients, including conducting mouth and neck examinations, and reviewing oral health history. Educating patients on proper teeth and gum care and the importance of diet on oral health. Taking X-rays and developing dental impressions and radiographs of teeth. Sterilizing dental instruments and equipment. Removing plaque, cleaning teeth, and helping to prevent gum disease. Supporting the Dentist on all aspects of dental care. Staying current with the latest developments in dentistry. Collecting medical and dental histories from patients. Charting dental conditions based on observations and evaluations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Diploma in Dental Hygiene; valid license to practice. Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA). Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and reliability.
