Responsibilities:
The dental hygienist is responsible for performinglicensed hygiene procedures, educating patients, and management ofthe nonsurgical periodontal program as directed by thedentist.
Establish and maintain continued patient carerelationships.
Verify/document patient health history and educatepatients about oral hygiene/health/disease as well as proceduresand services offered.
Perform clinical hygiene functions including,but not limited to: exposing/evaluating diagnostic x-rays, takingand recording blood pressure, adult/child prophylaxis, non-surgicalperiodontal therapy, and co-assessing possible restorativetreatments with the doctor.
Determine needs and perform sealantplacement, Arestin, and fluoride treatments asneeded.
Qualifications:
Dental hygiene certification from accrediteddental hygiene school.
Current hygiene license whereemployed.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS and infection controltraining as required by law.
Experience with dentalsoftware.
