Dental Hygienist/Program Coordinator General Summary:

Responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of all dental health initiatives in accordance with the Hospital’s Dental Health Program. Essential Job Functions•: Develops policies and procedures relative to the dental health program
Performs day-to-day activities during the school year relative to the dental program
Establishes and maintains appropriate patient records and makes dental follow-up referrals and recommendations when necessary
Establishes and maintains an educational program in collaboration with school officials, area dentists, and the Hospital
Assists and participates in various grant projects with the Director of Development for preventative and restorative dental services
Oversees the planning of the dental program to meet quality and regulatory standards
Serves as a liaison between the Hospital and dental community
Advises other Hospital departments (i.e. Emergency Department) as needed
Complies with hospital and departmental policies, procedures, regulations and standards as related to job
Demonstrates hospital’s stated mission and values of teamwork, respect, and communication with co-workers, patients, families, and visitors
Actively and appropriately participates in problem-solving identification and resolution, both intra- and inter-departmentally
Meets department customer service standards and strives to enhance the level of customer service provided
Attend yearly DHHS Calibration Clinics for public health dental programs
Write yearly reports to the Board of Dental Examiners and DHHS
Provide charts to supervising Dentist for yearly review
Order all necessary supplies plan and maintain budget with School Nurse Director and Director of Development
Meets yearly hospital educational requirements
Attends School Nurses meetings
s to plan, organize, and implement yearly golf tournament for dental program
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Education Required:

Associate of Science degree in

Dental Hygiene Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in

Dental Hygiene Work Experience Required:

Two years’ experience as a full-time

Dental Hygienist Preferred:

Four years’ experience as a full-time Dental Hygienist and demonstrated experience in program or office management

Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required:

Licensed Dental Hygienist in the State of Hampshire (RDH)

Required:

Certified Public Health Dental Hygienist (CPHDH)

Other Skills/Knowledge Required:

Ability to communicate/interact with students, faculty, practitioners, and students’ families
Ability to comprehend instructions and interpret concepts
Knowledge of current confidentiality policies, as well as school policies and procedures

Preferred:
