Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Sterilization & Operations Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our practice, maintaining high standards in sterilization, and supporting our dental assistants and providers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA guidelines, maintaining sterilization and dental equipment, tracking inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

In a dental office setting, a floater and a runner refer to support roles that assist the clinical team with various tasks to ensure the smooth flow of operations. Here’s a breakdown of both:

Sterilization & Compliance:

Sterilize dental instruments & equipment, adhering to OSHA standards & infection control protocols. Monitor & maintain sterilization equipment, ensuring all tools are ready for daily use. Regularly inspect and maintain sterilization equipment and report issues if applicable Track and organize equipment and supplies Set up and break down operatories between patients Monitor expiration dates and rotate stock Run instruments, materials, and equipment between rooms during procedures Maintain and monitor sterilization equipment (autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, etc.) Conduct regular spore testing and ensure all logs are up to date Support the team as a runner/floater for anything clinical or operational

Equipment Maintenance & Inventory Tracking:

Perform routine maintenance on chairs, lines & sterilization equipment. Track & manage lab inventory, ensuring materials are stocked & ordered as needed. Clinical Support Serve as a floater•, assisting with clinical tasks as needed, including breaking down and setting up operatories for dental procedures. Act as a runner• to ensure smooth operation between lab, clinic, and administrative areas. Maintain organization and cleanliness in the lab and sterilization areas.

Collaboration & Workflow:

Follow detailed protocols & workflows for sterilization, ensuring efficiency & precision in dental restorations. Communicate effectively with team members to streamline lab operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience in dental sterilization is required. Willingness to learn familiarity with OSHA standards & compliance for dental practices. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, & prioritize responsibilities. Good communication skills & ability to work collaboratively with the team.

Job Type:

Full-time Pay:

$14.00 – $16.00 per hour
