Dental Sterilization Technician The Center for Periodontics and Implant Dentistry 2090 Charlie Hall Boulevard, Charleston, SC 29414 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our periodontal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical and dental instruments are properly sterilized and maintained in accordance with infection control protocols. This candidate will be a team player, possess a positive attitude, be able to stand for long periods of time, and able to do some heavy lifting. Responsibilities Perform sterilization of surgical and dental instruments using appropriate techniques and equipment to include assembling, wrapping, and preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment. Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent contamination. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance. Launder blankets, towels, and scrubs used within the office daily. Collaborate with dental clinic staff to ensure timely availability of sterilized instruments and needed supplies. Assemble and stock post-surgery bags to be sent with patients. Placement and return of recycling bins curbside every week. Assist in operatory breakdown and clean up periodically. Experience Previous experience in roles related to infection control or dental office settings is preferred but not mandatory. We will train the right candidate. Effective communication with all members of the team. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. The work schedule is Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm with an hour lunch and Fridays 8:00am-3:00pm with lunch provided. We are paid bi-weekly and encourage direct deposit. Starting salary is $17.00 hourly, depending on experience.
