Description:
The Set-up and Finishing Technician is required to read, comprehend, and fill prescriptions provided by the dentist and provide set-up and finishing for removable appliances such as dentures, partials, and flexibles. The technician will smooth these appliances to the correct contours and thickness required for that particular product. The technician is also responsible for the final highly shined finish and cleaning of all debris from denture impression trays and case pans before sending to Final QC. The technician will accomplish these tasks utilizing proper grinding tools (handpiece, burs, bench lathe, pumice/polish lathe, model trimmer, etc.) along with various dental equipment to achieve properly constructed dental prostheses.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Compensation:
$18-25 per hour (depending on skill and experience)
Shift:
Full-time 7:30am-4:30pm
Monday-Friday Responsibilities/Duties/Qualifications:
Must Set-up dentures, flexibles and partials. Must shine and finish dentures and clean debris from denture impression trays and case pans using proper grinding tools (handpiece, burs, bench lathe, pumice/polish lathe, model trimmer, etc. Must have previous denture set-up and finishing experience (at least 1 year; 2 years preferred) and be able to accurately read/follow oral and written instructions, problem solve, and create correct denture for each patient. Accurately use millimeter ruler Be able to work independently and in teams Keep work area organized free of debris and clutter Order supplies according to policies set in place Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
