Hemodialysis Position Summary Summary:
The Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician is a member of the nursing staff who provides patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
Qualifications Responsibilities:
Education Required Must complete in-house orientation program High school graduation or equivalent required. Experience And Skills Excellent interpersonal skills Speaks, reads and writes English Minimum of one year nephrology technician required Experience in acute care Dialysis setting preferred License/Certifications Certification by the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing and Technology (BONENT) or Certification by the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) BLS certification for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association Working Conditions Other information: Working Conditions Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn Primarily standing. Ability to bend, transport patients from wheelchair and stretcher to dialysis chair and bed. Able to lift 50 lbs. Walk distances from within unit and throughout the hospital. Escort patients to and from unit.
