Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Manager to lead our dietary department in providing high-quality nutritional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management within a long-term care setting and will ensure that all dietary operations meet regulatory standards and support residents’ health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the dietary department. Ensure meals are prepared and served in accordance with established policies, procedures, and resident dietary needs. Supervise and schedule dietary staff, providing training and performance evaluations as needed. Collaborate with healthcare team members to accommodate special dietary requirements and modified diets. Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local food safety and sanitation regulations. Manage inventory, order food and supplies, and control costs while maintaining quality standards. Participate in care planning meetings as needed to support individualized resident nutrition plans. Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas for cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of equipment.
Qualifications:
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP), or equivalent certification desired. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dietary leadership role, with at least 1 year in a long-term care facility. Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, food service management, and dietary regulations in healthcare. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. ServSafe certification or other food safety credential preferred.
