- Job Description A skilled nursing facility is currently seeking a dietary manager whose primary purpose is to assist the dietitian in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the dietary department in accordance with current federal, State, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Job Functions:
- Coordinate dietary services and activities with other related departments (i.e., nursing, housekeeping, social services, etc.)
- Provide excellent customer service to our residents
- Offer food preferences to meet residents’ needs and wishes
- Must understand requirements for all dietary restrictions, orders, consistencies
- Schedules, trains and manages staff. Controls overtime costs.
- Responsible for a clean and sanitary kitchen and must maintain good infection contol practices
- Must be familiar with state and federal regulations
- Assist in developing and maintaining written dietary policies and procedures
- Perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, staff evaluation, studies, timekeeping, etc.
- Develop and maintain a file of tested standards recipes
- Keep abreast of economic conditions/situations and recommend to the dietitian and/or administrator adjustments in dietary services that assure the continued ability to provide daily dietary services
- Submit accident/incident reports to human resources within 24 hours after their occurrence
- Assume administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of supervising the dietary department
- Inspect food storage room, utility/janitorial closets, etc. for upkeep and supply control
- Review and assist in developing a plan of correction for dietary service deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy such to the administrator
- Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing
- Participates in facility surveys (inspection) made by authorized government agencies
- Assists in interviewing and selection of dietary personnel
- Other duties as assigned Knowledgeable of the current federal, State, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing food service operations in skilled nursing facility, required ServSafe certification, required

Full-time Pay:
$60,000.00
- $70,000.
