The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting nutritional programs within a K-12 school district setting. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, as well as excellent time management skills to ensure efficient meal preparation and service. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and service of meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines. Ensure all food is handled, stored, and served in compliance with food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health department standards. Collaborate with culinary staff to ensure timely meal delivery and presentation. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or discrepancies. Support dietary staff in meal planning and special dietary needs for residents or patients. Participate in training sessions on food handling, safety procedures, and culinary techniques as needed. Follow instructions and carry out assigned responsibilities. Cooperate with manager, co-workers, teachers, and principal Cooperate with school food service workers in other schools when necessary Prepare and serve food Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the principal or manager may assign from time to time Requirements Requirements Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in the school environments is preferred. Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices is essential. Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members. Basic culinary skills with an understanding of cooking techniques is a plus. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods during shifts. Must be of sound physical and mental health. Posses the ability to work with and get along with children and adults.
