Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dietary Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appetizing meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans and dietary requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and handling standards
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of special events and catering services
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
  • Ensure the quality of all food prepared, serving hot meals promptly
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest requests and concerns
  • Maintain accurate records of food inventory, supplies, and waste
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to improve food preparation and presentation skills
  • Adhere to all food safety and handling regulations and guidelines
Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience in a food service or culinary environment
  • Proven experience in meal preparation and food handling
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and handling regulations
  • Familiarity with catering services and special events
  • Experience in a kitchen environment with multiple cooking stations and equipment
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork and communication
  • Basic knowledge of the food industry and culinary practices
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Culinary or hospitality degree preferred
Skills:
  • Extensive experience in meal preparation and food service
  • Knowledge of food safety and handling regulations
  • Strong culinary skills, including cooking, food preparation, and presentation
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills and experience with food inventory management
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and supplies
  • Familiarity with catering services and special events
  • Willingness to help and assist with other kitchen staff as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality service
  • Certification in food safety and handling is an asset.
