Dietary Aide Position Available In Berkshire, Massachusetts

The Dietary Aide/Prep Cook provides assistance in all dietary functionsas directed/instructed and in accordance with established dietarypolicies and procedures. Fairview Commons Nursing & RehabilitationCenter has been part of the Great Barrington community for more than 40years, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursingcare in The Berkshires. Nestled in a hill in a quiet residentialsetting, all of our rooms overlook blooming greenery with either thesurrounding woods or our well-maintained patios.

• Essential JobFunctions:

• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individualswith disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Work with thefacility’s dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes asrequired.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timelybasis.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion controlprocedures.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, inaccordance with established policies and procedures.
• Clean worktables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweep and mop floorsas directed.
• Carry soiled utensils, etc., to wash area.
• Return cleanutensils to proper storage areas.
• Wash and clean utensils asdirected.
• Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free ofhazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
• Set up meal trays, food carts,dining room, etc., as instructed.
• Assist cook in preparing meals.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Obtain food supplies fornext meal.
• Assist in checking diet trays before distribution.
• Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.
• Performdishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assure that utensils, etc., are readilyavailable for next meal.
• Remove food trays from carts, dining rooms,etc., and take to dishwashing area.
• Prepare and deliver snacks, etc.,as instructed.
• Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed inaccordance with established policies.
• Follow established InfectionControl and Universal Precautions policies and procedures whenperforming daily tasks.
• Ensure department is clean and safe byassuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained.
• Reportall hazardous conditions/equipment and accidents to supervisorimmediately.
• Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean andproperly arranged manner at all times.
• Ensure that food and suppliesfor the next meal are readily available.
• Dispose of food and waste inaccordance with established policies.
• Report missing/illegible labelsor MSDSs to supervisor.
• Assist in food preparation for special mealsfor parties, etc.
