Dietary Supervisor 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 15 Piper Road, Scarborough, ME 04074 Piper Shores is Maine’s premier nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Care. The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for supporting daily operations of the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing communities to ensure that residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals in a welcoming and comfortable dining environment. This role supports the dignity, preferences, and choices of each resident while promoting a culture of hospitality, safety, and quality service.
Position Summary:
Collaborates with residents, dietitians, Dietary Manager, and Holbrook staff to create personalized meal plans to ensure that meals meet dietary restrictions, preferences, nutritional requirements, and high quality taste and presentation. Promotes a pleasant dining environment that enhances residents’ quality of life. Utilizes software for data entry and maintenance. Supports a dignified, enjoyable dining experience for residents. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety guidelines by actively rounding in all Holbrook dining venues and actively identifying and addressing concerns. Interfaces with cooks to address changes to meals, discuss new residents or other items Assists the Dietary Manager with leading, and scheduling of Hospitality Associates Fosters a compassionate, team-oriented atmosphere among dietary staff. Works alongside Hospitality Associates in executing meal prep, service and clean up, providing real-time feedback, supervision, coaching, mentoring and positive role-modeling. Required Skills and Experience:
High School diploma or GED/equivalent required. Associates degree or some academic work in the field of culinary arts, hospitality studies or gerontology strongly preferred. Minimum of one year of full-time experience in a Health Center in Food & Nutrition or applicable experience required. Understanding of aging services and the ability to learn about individuals living with dementia. Ability to communicate feedback in a clear and timely manner, strong interpersonal skills required. Proficient with Microsoft Office, ability to learn and utilize data management sites and other technology. Ability to work independently and self-monitor completion of tasks. Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and perform simple arithmetic.
