Full Job Description Dietary Aide Location/Schedule:

Winston-Salem, NC (onsite position); Typical hours are 1st shift, 7:30 to 4:00pm (summer), 6:300am to 3:00pm (school year), Monday-Friday. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends as dictated by the demands of the position, including group events. Noise level in the workplace is usually moderate. Work is completed indoors except for special events or loading/unloading food items.

Our Dietary Services team in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a dynamic new team member. As part of the team responsible for smooth operations in our Food Services division, this role assists with food preparation, serving, stocking, and cleaning. Responsibilities include an emphasis on compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and serving meals with efficient and courteous service.

Adherence to dress code and grooming standards for food/kitchen requirements.. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assists in preparing ingredients and assembling meals according to recipes, menus, and nutritional guidelines. Follows proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and sanitation compliance. Serves meals with a friendly and helpful service. Washes dishes and helps keep the kitchen’s dish area clean and organized. Sweeps and mops all Dining Hall floors, cleans tables/chairs/surfaces, takes out the trash, cleans restrooms. Unloads stock, using first in, first out (FIFO) method. Assists with the overall upkeep of the facility and surrounding grounds. Assists in the creation of a safe and inviting atmosphere for dining and socializing. Follows directions, offers assistance and support to coworkers, and works cooperatively with all members of the Dining Hall staff. Communicates effectively to maintain a cohesive and productive work environment. May help with preparation and clean-up for special events and deliveries of food items. Assists with inventory, and reports when supplies are needed or equipment needs attention. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Heavy Position involves lifting up to 100 pounds on occasion, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Frequent reaching and/or grasping using fingers, hands, arms, and/or shoulders. Must have dexterity in using kitchen equipment, telephone, computer keyboard, or other objects/equipment. Frequently required to stand, walk, reach and lift. Ability to spend long periods of time standing, bending, stooping, and walking around the facility. Visual ability including distance, peripheral, and depth perception. Regularly required to talk and hear. Ability to climb stairs repeatedly. The above list is not all-inclusive.
