POSITION SUMMARY

The primary purpose of your job is to assist infood preparation and service while maintaining clean and sanitaryconditions in the kitchen and dining areas as directed by the FoodService Director or Cook. Performs other duties as directed byrepresentatives of the community. Follows all health sanitary andinfection control policies and maintains established standards ofpractice set forth by the community’s administration and DietaryPolicies and Procedures.

Education & Qualification:

Must be currently enrolled in a high school program or have ahigh school diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of the fundamentals of food safety andsanitation is preferred. Must possess a working knowledge of the fundamentals of foodsafety and sanitation. Must meet and remain current with statespecific requirements for food handler training. Must be able to communicate in English and have the ability tofollow verbal and written instructions. Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out bothverbal and written directions. Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills andattention to detail. Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and communitystaff in the performance of duties. Ability to observe proper safety and sanitarytechniques. Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements ofthe position/assignment. Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety ofothers in the workplace.

Experience:

Previous experience in long-term care preferred, but notrequired.
