Dietary Manager Confidential 193 Asheville Highway, Sylva, NC 28779 Job Summary The Dietary Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the dietary department within an Skilled Nursing facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals tailored to their individual health needs. The Dietary Manager will lead a team of dietary staff, develop care plans, and implement dietary programs that align with the overall health and wellness goals of the residents. Duties Supervise and manage the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with health regulations and standards. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on residents’ nutritional needs, preferences, and medical conditions. Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess residents’ dietary requirements and monitor their progress. Oversee budgeting for the dietary department, including food procurement and inventory management. Provide leadership and training to dietary staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on quality care. Implement health coaching strategies to educate residents about nutrition and healthy eating habits. Manage tube feeding protocols for residents requiring specialized nutritional support. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for all residents. Qualifications Strong knowledge of physiology and nutrition principles as they relate to dietary management in an assisted living setting. Proven leadership skills with experience in managing a team within a dietary or healthcare environment. Proficiency in budgeting and financial management related to food services. Familiarity with developing care plans that address individual resident needs. Experience with tube feeding practices and protocols is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare staff. A passion for promoting health and wellness through proper nutrition.
