Dietary Aide – Per Diem 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 DIETARY AIDE – Per Diem $15.50 Base Rate, 2% weekend differential, 8% evening differential
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for a variety of tasks related to the preparation and delivery of meal service, including maintaining a clean and sanitary work area. Crosstrain in all job flows. Work a flexible shift as required by the department including weekends, evenings, and holidays as necessary to meet resident needs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all long-term care regulations, department policies and procedures. Prepare nourishment as required. Prepare cold food, e.g., salads, sandwiches, desserts, and special function items as directed. Label and date as required. Assist in arranging tray tickets; serving meals; and loading food carts. Deliver food carts to the nursing units, dining room or designated areas. Collect food carts and return to dishwashing room. Assist in dish and pot washing and sanitizing. Assist in receiving, storing, labeling, and dating food and supplies. In accordance with assignments, perform cleaning duties in kitchen, dining rooms, service areas, dishwashing area, refrigeration areas, cafeteria, and floor pantries. This includes floor cleaning, cleaning of carts, equipment, counters, and sanitation of work areas in accordance with cleaning procedures. Use good sanitation and safety procedures. Collect, remove, and dispose of garbage as required. Comply with OSHA guidelines. Attend mandatory in-service training sessions. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Seek feedback and suggestions that would improve personal and/or organizational performance (e.g., accepts constructive criticism and suggestions). Communicate effectively and honestly, clarifying expectations and reporting progress or changes. Flexibility and willingness to meet the challenges of unexpected assignments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years related experience required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift 25 pounds, and push loaded food carts from the kitchen throughout the facility.
