Job Description
JOB INFORMATION
The Dietitian is a permanent, full-time position with various agencies throughout the state. This is professional work in providing nutritional services including assessment, counseling, and education as a part of a public health program in an assigned district, a rehabilitation service program, or a senior services program.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
(S) Bachelors degree from an accredited• college or university in Nutrition, Foods and Nutrition, Dietetics, or Community Nutrition.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
(S) Qualified applicants must be eligible for registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and must attach their verification statement(s) to the application form. In addition, an application to obtain a license as a Dietitian/Nutritionist by the State of Alabama must be submitted to the State Board of Examiners for Dietetic/Nutrition practice before appointment. Registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and licensure by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Dietetic/Nutrition Practice must be attained during the probationary period in order to obtain permanent employment. NOTE(S) If your application states you have a college degree, the Alabama Department of Public Health requires documentation verifying possession of the degree prior to employment.
