Job Summary and Qualifications
The Dietitian functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to screen newly-admitted patients to identify those at nutritional risk. The Dietitian provides total nutritional care and education to patients across the facility.
What you will do in this role:
You will assess the nutritional needs of patients and develop and implement nutritional care plans in accordance with the physician’s diagnoses and requirements of regulatory agencies.
You will communicate information pertinent to the nutritional care of the patient through documentation in the patient’s medical records and verbally with other care team providers.
You will develop and maintain regular and therapeutic meals/menus.
You will provide nutrition counseling to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients plus the terminally ill patients as well as their families or significant others.
You will actively participate in projects, committees and task forces to improve department and hospital processes and patient care outcomes.
You will stay current with most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications and standards of practice.
What qualifications you may need:
Bachelor’s Degree is required; A Master’s Degree with a concentration in Nutrition is preferred
Must be licensed as a Dietitian in Florida, in accordance with law and regulation
Registered Dietitian status with the Commission in Dietetic Registration is required
1 year of Clinical Dietitian experience is preferred. Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting highly preferred.
