The ideal candidate will have experience in various settings, including long-term care and hospitals, and will be responsible for providing expert nutritional guidance to patients. This role involves working closely with patients to assess their dietary needs, develop personalized nutrition plans, and promote overall health and wellness. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional needs and dietary restrictions. Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans, including tube feeding protocols when necessary. Collaborate with healthcare professionals within the dietary department to ensure optimal patient care. Provide health coaching to patients focusing on weight loss, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications. Supervise dietary staff and assist in training new team members on best practices in nutrition and food service. Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed based on ongoing assessments. Stay updated on the latest research in nutrition and dietary guidelines relevant to geriatrics and other populations. Skills Strong knowledge of nutritional science, particularly in long-term care and hospital settings. Experience with tube feeding administration and management of dietary systems. Proficient in patient assessment techniques with a focus on geriatrics. Excellent communication skills for effective health coaching and patient education. Ability to supervise staff while fostering a collaborative team environment. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple patient cases efficiently.
