Registered Dietitian YMCA of Northwest North Carolina Winston-Salem, NC Job Details Part-time $18 – $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Bilingual Spanish English Mid-level 3 years Master’s degree Nutrition Bachelor’s degree Registered Dietitian Teaching Full Job Description Position Summary The Registered Dietitian, under the direction of the Community Integrated Health Director, will provide nutrition education and individual counseling for members and program participants. Essential Functions Leads and directs program and activity sessions in accordance with the standards established by the YMCA of Northwest NC Contributes to the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the programs as required. Demonstrates the ability to apply knowledge to audiences of various social, cultural and economic backgrounds through various modalities including in-person, virtual, and online. Integrates principles of leadership in every teaching/learning situation through effective communication and adjusting instruction to various age groups. Responsible for reviewing participant’s diet analysis reports as needed based on program protocols. Responsible for determining program goals and establishing weekly changes to the nutritional content and/or nutritional behaviors of program participants. Provides encouragement, positive feedback and change strategies to accomplish nutritional changes in behavior (including menu planning and assistance with food selection). Maintains confidentiality on all participant records, data and reports. Performs individual nutritional consultations as requested. Must have a positive attitude and ability to work independently while displaying sound judgment and participant safety. Attend all staff meetings, trainings, demonstrations and special promotions as designated by supervisor. Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor or Branch administration. Attends required abuse risk management training. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities. Physical Requirements Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.

Walking, Sitting, Vision, Hearing, Kneeling, Standing up to 4 hours, lifting (25 lbs.). Must be able to accomplish these tasks: Communicate verbally, including projecting the voice across distance Hear noises and distress signals YMCA Competencies (Leader):

Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition Licensed/license eligible as Dietitian/Nutritionist with the state of NC Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) 3+ years prior experience either teaching/facilitating classes or conducting nutritional counseling sessions. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
