The complex is aunique expansion of the existing swimming and diving venue builtfor the 1996 Olympic Games. Campus Recreation provides a premierrecreation fitness center, aquatic center, recreation fields, andleadership challenge course for the Georgia Tech community. Weoffer programming that includes Intramural Sports, Club Sports,Fitness Instruction and Classes, and Outdoor Recreation. Job Summary This temporary position will serve as a key resource in promotingnutrition and wellness education for faculty, staff, and students.
The position will also provide tailored guidance to the campuscommunity seeking nutrition-related resources and work closely withseveral Campus Recreation programs and services. Supplies forprogramming needs are provided. Responsibilities Develop and deliver nutrition plans and resources to enhance thefitness and wellness outcomes of the Georgia Tech communityparticipating in campus recreation programs. Partner with severalCampus Recreation units to integrate nutritional education andsupport into existing Campus Recreation Programs.
Conduct individualconsultations to assess nutritional needs, offer tailoredrecommendations to support unique dietary needs, and create actionplans for faculty, staff, students, and other Campus Recreationmembers to help reach their physical wellness goals. Develop andpresent nutrition education programs for current Campus Recreationprograms and units using a variety of instructional methods andcommunications media.
Lead engaging food demonstrations in the testkitchen, showcasing better cooking techniques plus innovative andsimple recipes to participants. Develop and implementapplication-based solutions to assist participants with bettercooking practices, dining out choices, and food substitutions.
Stayup to date on the latest trends and research in nutrition andwellness to ensure evidence-based practice and innovative servicedelivery.
Collaborate with other departments on campus to reachshared goals in nutrition and education for the campus community.

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational SchoolDiploma Required Experience Up to two years of job related experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Dietetics,Nutrition, or a related field (Masters preferred).RegisteredDietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or equivalent qualificationMinimum of2 years of experience in wellness or clinical nutrition.
Strongcommunication skills and ability to collaborate acrossdepartments. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Masters in Public Health or relatedfieldExperience working in the collegiate recreationsetting/context.
Experience working in higher education or withdiverse populations.
CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) orequivalent certification.
Familiarity with fitness, recreational orathletic programs.
Ability to design and implement performance-basednutrition strategies.
