Role:
Join our team as a Nutrition Coach , where you’ll support our mission of promoting wellness through food, nutrition, and lifestyle education. This role involves delivering engaging, heart-healthy cooking demonstrations and supporting nutrition education efforts in collaboration with clinic staff, including our Registered Dietitian. You’ll help patients and community members make informed, sustainable changes to improve their overall health and quality of life.
How You’ll Drive Our Mission Forward:
Deliver cooking demonstrations featuring heart-healthy recipes and practical nutrition tips, aligned with program guidelines to promote disease prevention and healthy habits. Plan and prep all aspects of cooking demos, including ordering food and supplies, and preparing ingredients in advance. Monitor food and beverage costs and assist in applying cost-control measures. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen space, including weekly cleaning and monthly deep-cleaning of appliances. Support nutrition education sessions, including facilitating third-party instructional videos and group education when needed. Prepare and manage all educational materials for cooking demos, nutrition consults, and workshops. Collaborate with the clinic Dietitian to ensure consistency and accuracy in nutrition messaging and patient education. Conduct weekly inventory of food items and class materials, reporting supply needs to the Dietitian. Coordinate with healthcare providers to align dietary recommendations with patient treatment plans. Assist with general clinic operations and patient care tasks as directed by the Director. Culinary experience preferred. Experience in health and wellness group teaching is a plus. Ability to plan, organize, and execute food-based educational events. Knowledge of basic nutrition, healthy food preparation, and food safety standards. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially when engaging diverse populations. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a clinical or community setting. Passion for culinary arts, nutrition, and community health.
