Job Overview:

The Nutritionist, RD provides optimal nutrition services as an integral part of the healthcare system.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s or advanced degree with major studies in Food and Nutrition- or Dietetics
RD or RDN Certification or eligible within 6 months of hire

Preferred:

Previous clinical experience

40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

Assess patient nutritional status, develop and implement nutritional care plans and educate patients and family members about prescribed diets and nutritional information
The Clinical Dietitian serves a patient population covering pediatrics to geriatrics
Responsible for the assessment/reassessment of patients at nutritional risk as per the standards of CMS, NJDOH, TJC, education/documentation in the EMR for all patients at nutrition risk as well as documentation of ASPEN criteria for malnutrition
Competency includes order-writing privileges for diets and tube feedings
Responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments. i, e, damaged floors, walls, ceiling tiles, unsecured areas and medical errors, etc.
Perform other Duties as assigned
