Purpose:

The Parkhurst Dietitian, Sports and Performance Nutrition plays a critical leadership role in advancing Parkhurst Dinings wellness, sports and performance nutrition strategy, with a strong focus on collegiate athletics. This role leads the development and execution of scalable, athlete-centered wellness and performance nutrition programs across higher education accounts. This position works closely with the Parkhurst Dietitian, Culinary Leaders, and District Managers to ensure alignment with the overall brand philosophy while also providing high-touch, client- and guest-facing expertise to drive program impact. This individual will develop toolkits, provide training, create strategic communications, and collaborate with chefs, operations teams, and campus partners, including athletic departments and coaches, to elevate the athlete experience through nutrition.

Job Responsibilities:

Sports Nutrition Program Development & Communication Strategy (40%) Design and implement sports nutrition programs that align with the Parkhurst established philosophy and are tailored to meet the needs of clients, students, and guests at higher education institutions. Create scalable fueling strategies and programs, including training plates, hydration guidance, and snack programs. Build campus-specific wellness and performance nutrition materials for distribution to increase end user knowledge and awareness utilizing various communication channels to promote awareness and encourage program adoption. Develop guest-facing and internal communication tools in collaboration with key stakeholders to effectively convey wellness and sports nutrition information. Serve as a liaison to athletic departments and sports performance teams to understand needs, guide thinking, and design programming to meet the needs across the college and Parkhurst footprint. Nutritional Information Accuracy, Compliance and Training (25%) Ensure alignment with NCAA nutrition regulations where applicable. Partner with key stakeholders to ensure menu labeling accuracy for nutritional content and allergens on menus. Collaborate with key stakeholders to keep nutrition systems and data up to date. Conduct regular training sessions with on-site teams to identify and communicate allergen and nutrition content; includes workshops and field-level education for culinarians and front of house teams. Support development and facilitation of training related to allergen awareness, balanced meals, and nutrition compliance. Regional Field Support (25%) Provide regional, campus-level support for new wellness and sports and performance programs. Deliver individual or group wellness education to students and athletes as needed. Support client relations, program rollouts, and campus-specific needs as identified with Parkhurst Leadership. Assist with new account onboarding, retention strategies, and client engagement efforts tied to sports and performance nutrition. Collaborate on regional programs with the overarching Parkhurst wellness brand. Collaborate to develop scalable sports and performance nutrition toolkits and education resources. Support internal wellness campaigns and national wellness initiatives. Represent Parkhurst in client presentations, conferences, and outreach events as needed.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required. Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months. Masters degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in wellness, collegiate athletics, or higher education nutrition; experience in sports performance or collegiate athletic departments preferred. Familiarity with NCAA compliance related to nutrition. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills. Proficient in nutrition analysis systems and Microsoft Office. Passion for high-touch, relationship-based service; adaptable, with a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit. Ability to travel regionally (2540%).
