Job Description Job Description Per Diem Positions AvailableEncompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Nittany Valley PleasantGap PA The Dietitian plans therapeutic diets and confers withpatients, doctors, nursing staff and patient family membersconcerning these diets. The position monitors Nutrition Servicesprovided to patients to ensure that standards of care are met inaccordance with all associated regulatory agencies and theadministrative policies of the hospital. The Dietitian instructspatients in diets for home use prior to discharge and asoutpatients. The Dietitian monitors past and present nutritionalstatus and makes recommendations to the health care team based onavailable data. To ensure the accuracy of food production asrelated to modified diets, the Dietitian acts in a supervisorycapacity, as needed and performs other project assignments.

Qualifications License or Certification:

• Registeredby the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American DieteticAssociation
• Must be licensed as a Registered Dietitian asapplicable per state requirements
• Member of the American DieteticAssociation preferredTotal Education, Vocational Training andExperience
• Bachelor Science or advanced degree from an accreditedinstitution, with a major in Food & Nutrition preferred
• One yearexperience in Clinical Dietetics preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Goodvisual acuity and ability to communicate
• Ability to lift aminimum of 30 pounds and ability push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds,which includes the lifting, pushing and/or pulling of medicalsupplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning ofpatients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting,pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimumrequirements
• Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch are required forpatient care functions and in setting up and monitoringequipment.
