The Director of Respiratory (DOR) at Northbay Home Health is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations and nursing staff within the group homes. This leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The DON collaborates closely with medical professionals, caregivers, and administrative staff to create a supportive and safe environment for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Staff Management and Leadership Oversee the entire nursing team, including interviewing, training, and retaining highly skilled staff o Leading performance evaluations and providing ongoing mentorship to foster professional growth and improve staff retention. o Lead, supervise, and mentor the nursing staff, including RNs and LPNs, to ensure consistent, high-quality care. Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional growth and teamwork. o Developing and maintaining staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage, while accommodating leaves, absences, and unexpected changes in a way that balances both operational needs and staff well-being. o Actively participating in the onboarding and orientation of new staff, ensuring that all nursing personnel are familiar with facility policies, safety protocols, and patient care standards. Quality Assurance and Patient Care Oversight Maintaining a high standard of patient care is a top priority: o Monitoring and continuously assessing patient care procedures to ensure that our services are delivered safely, efficiently, and compassionately. o Implementing quality assurance programs to track and measure the effectiveness of nursing care, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and improving patient outcomes. o Addressing patient and family concerns promptly and working to enhance overall patient satisfaction. Budget and Resource Management In terms of fiscal responsibility, work closely with DOO to manage the nursing department’s budget, which includes: o Allocating resources effectively, ensuring that our department remains within budget while maintaining high standards of care. o Evaluating and managing the procurement of necessary equipment and medical supplies, always seeking cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality or safety. o Working with administration to forecast and plan for future resource needs, while addressing any current financial constraints. Policy Development and Regulatory Compliance To ensure our homes meet both internal standards and external regulatory requirements: o Developing, updating, and implementing nursing policies and procedures that align with current best practices in healthcare. o Preparing the facility for inspections from regulatory bodies such as APD and state health departments, addressing any deficiencies promptly. o Ensuring the nursing staff remains compliant with continuing education requirements and maintains up-to-date certifications, including overseeing training programs in areas such as infection control, patient safety, and emergency preparedness. o Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation and practices to maintain quality standards. Risk Management and Infection Control Mitigating potential risks to both staff and patients, including: o Identifying areas of potential concern, whether related to patient safety or staff procedures, and implementing changes to mitigate those risks. o Ensuring compliance with infection control standards and continuously monitoring adherence to protocols, especially considering the ongoing demands for enhanced health safety measures. o Crisis Management•Respond promptly to emergencies and critical incidents, providing leadership and direction to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff. Collaboration and Strategic Planning Work closely with all administration parties and support coordinators to align nursing operations with overall organizational goals. o Participating in planning meetings to discuss long-term objectives for the nursing department and contributing insight into ways to enhance patient care delivery. o Collaborating with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and coordinated care for patients.

Qualifications:

o Current and valid RRT license in the state of Florida/ TB/Physical/Background Screening o Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing, required o Minimum of 5 years of RRT experience, with at least 2 years in a management, leadership or supervisory role. o Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities required. o Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards of care, and best practices in a group home setting. o Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform the physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, moving, and positioning patients. Ability to lift 50 lbs
