We are currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team and support the overall clinical and operational success of our nursing department. Position Summary The ADON plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional nursing care by assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing daily clinical operations, supervising nursing staff, promoting compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and resident-centered care. Key Responsibilities Assist the DON with planning, development, organization, and evaluation of nursing services. Supervise and support licensed nurses, CNAs, and other nursing staff to ensure high standards of care are maintained. Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and assist with scheduling and training. Participate in care plan development and interdisciplinary team meetings. Conduct audits to ensure documentation, medication administration, and infection control procedures meet regulatory requirements. Help coordinate survey readiness and participate in the response to regulatory inspections. Address resident and family concerns with professionalism and empathy. Support onboarding and education of new nursing team members. Serve as acting DON in their absence.
Qualifications Required:
Current and active RN license in the State of Georgia. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in long-term care or skilled nursing. Strong clinical knowledge and experience with care planning, documentation, and regulatory compliance. Effective leadership and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings as needed.
Preferred:
Prior experience in a supervisory or ADON role. Knowledge of PointClickCare or other electronic health record (EHR) systems. Familiarity with CMS regulations, MDS process, and QA programs.
