Grady Health System, a $2.5B health system in Atlanta, Georgia, announces an exceptional opportunity for two accomplished nurse executives to serve as inaugural Senior Vice President, Associate Chief Nursing Officers for the 953-bed essential hospital. It collaborates with Emory and Morehouse medical schools, offering specialized care in various fields. The Position As a member of the executive leadership team, the Senior Vice President, Associate Chief Nursing Officers (ACNOs) will oversee nursing operations across a large quaternary health system in a diverse and fast-paced environment, ensuring the highest standards of clinical quality, safety, and patient-centered care. The SVP, ACNOs will play a pivotal role in advancing the strategic direction to serve a dynamic and diverse community. The SVP, ACNOs support the Chief Nursing Executive in driving quality, safety, patient experience and employee engagement while strengthening Grady’s Nursing Excellence journey. The two roles will oversee the operational responsibility for a group of patient care areas and/or special projects or initiatives. One

will cover Medical Surgical Units and Women’s Services and the other

SVP, ACNO

will manage Critical Care Units including the ICU, IMCU, CV and Neuro Specialty Units.

Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Leadership:

Partner with the CNE and executive leadership to drive nursing excellence aligned with Grady’s mission of providing high-quality, compassionate, and culturally intelligent care.

Quality, Safety, & Patient Experience :

Lead nursing quality and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory agencies.

Nursing Workforce Development & Engagement :

Foster a culture of belonging, inclusion, and professional growth, ensuring Grady nurses feel valued and empowered.

Community & Interprofessional Partnerships :

Represent nursing leadership in hospital-wide committees and advocacy efforts focused on health equity and underserved communities. The Community Atlanta, Georgia, is a growing city with a rich history and a vibrant community, offering a dynamic environment for professionals. Qualifications Master’s Degree required in Nursing (MSN) or Hospital Administration (MHA); Doctorate (DNP, PhD) preferred. Active RN license in Georgia or eligibility to obtain. Minimum of seven years of progressive nursing leadership experience in healthcare required, preferably in an urban safety-net hospital or large health system. (Prior ACNO or CNO experience). Expertise in Pathway to Excellence, Magnet, or similar nursing excellence programs preferred.

Certifications:

NEA-BC or CENP strong preferred.
