Director of Nursing (DON) for Private Non-Profit 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Jefferson, LA 70121 Private non- profit serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities seeks qualified, organized and caring individual to lead our nursing staff.
Main job duties include:
Oversee the scheduling of all nursing staff using cost-effective management while maximizing the quality of care provided to all persons served. Manage and approve payroll for the nursing department. Ensure the smooth flow of information and services among departments, administration, nursing, outside services, physicians, case managers, families, direct care staff and individuals served in matters relating to health care relevant governing regulations. Ensure that Title XIX, Waiver and CMS regulations are followed as applicable to nursing. Oversee MARS Oversee pharmacy issues and consult with pharmacist regarding quality assurance issues, participating in quarterly pharmacy reviews of medications and documentation. Communicate health care concerns to Medical Director, appropriate administrators, case managers and families. Work effectively with Medical Director. Provide sessions in orientation related to healthcare and departmental policies and procedures. Teach CPR certification classes to staff members. Participate in annual plans of care and Human Rights meetings. Serve as a member of safety committee. Respond to emergencies including coordination and participation in emergency preparedness plan, addressing all medical and pharmaceutical needs as well as providing nursing services in emergency and evacuation situations. Willingly accepts and performs other duties and assignments to meet the needs of the individuals served. To successfully perform this job, the candidate must possess the following qualifications: Hold a current RN license issued in Louisiana. Must have at least 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience. Experience working with individuals with disabilities. Current Louisiana Driver’s license with clean record. Be willing to become certified to teach CPR and medication administration classes.
Job Type:
Full-time, salaried, exempt.
Pay:
$100,000-$110,000 annual salary.
