Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced CNO / Regional Nurse (RN) to join our outstanding and growing team! The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) / Regional Nurse will oversee and direct nursing operations across a designated region of Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs). This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staff management, and operational effectiveness within multiple facilities. The CNO/Regional Nurse will work closely with facility leadership teams to optimize nursing practices, improve clinical outcomes, and ensure that all staff adhere to the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and mentor nursing leadership teams at multiple SNF locations. Collaborate with facility administrators to ensure the nursing staff is effectively deployed, trained, and supported. Evaluate and assess the performance of nursing staff, implementing professional development programs to promote continuous learning. Maintain staffing levels in accordance with patient care needs while managing labor costs efficiently. Act as the primary point of contact for all nursing-related issues, offering support and guidance across facilities. Ensure that nursing practices and care delivery comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Develop, implement, and monitor patient care protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care and safety. Evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery and patient outcomes, making recommendations for improvement. Lead initiatives for quality improvement and patient satisfaction, ensuring consistent monitoring and tracking of clinical indicators. Stay current with healthcare regulations and ensure that all facilities comply with nursing-related legal and accreditation standards. Prepare for and manage regulatory inspections, audits, and accreditation surveys. Oversee the implementation and monitoring of infection control protocols and other regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with nursing-specific aspects of policies such as HIPAA, staffing ratios, and patient care documentation. Oversee the efficient allocation of nursing resources, ensuring optimal patient care and cost management. Monitor nursing department budgets and expenditures across the region, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising care. Work with the corporate team to implement operational strategies that align with organizational goals. Conduct regular meetings with nursing staff to discuss facility needs, concerns, and innovations in patient care. Analyze nursing data and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives across all SNFs.

Career Growth Requirements:
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. Certification in Nursing Administration or Leadership (e.g., CNOR, CNO) is preferred. In-depth knowledge of nursing standards, SNF regulations, and quality improvement practices. Experience in budget management, staffing optimization, and operational oversight. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical, strategic solutions. In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including CMS, OSHA, and state-level guidelines.
