- Job Description
- The Director of Quality & Patient Engagement is responsible for the development, standardization and coordination of programs to advance nursing quality, implementing, evaluating quality improvement and patient engagement programs across Kaleida Health System at the acute care sites.
Ensures development of nursing quality and patient safety initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and family centered care. The Director will be responsible for maintaining strong alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for Kaleida Health, which includes the strategic focus for the nursing plan of excellence. The Director works closely with a variety of stakeholders (i.e., site Chief Quality Officer and Corporate Chief Quality Officer), coordinating the activities of nursing quality and patient engagement across the enterprise. Continually assesses all services, identifies problems, utilizes data to analyze and propose innovative approaches for solutions. Prepares and delivers reports to operational leadership outlining progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives, to include performance related to finance, clinical activity, quality, safety. The Director of Nursing Quality and Patient Engagement supports and interprets the mission/values, philosophy, goals and objectives of the organization and nursing services across the system of care; participates in the annual goal setting for nursing to attain and deliver on the strategic plan for the system and sites specific nursing services. The Director leads and motivates nursing staff, provides professional development opportunities and fosters a positive working environment. The Director Reports directly to the Chief Nurse Executive with a dotted line reporting line to the Chief Quality Officer.
- Education And Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Master’s degree preferred. Registered Nurse licensure required. CPQH or CPHRM certification preferred.
- Experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience in nursing with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on quality improvement required.
Experience in an academic or complex health system required. Acute care quality performance management experience required. Demonstrated experience using performance improvement skills and patient engagement skills such as lean or Six Sigma required. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, staff, leaders, and other key stakeholders required.

Salary Range:
- $120,354.00 – $165,486.75
- Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate’s experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
