This position requires a compassionate and knowledgeable individual who can effectively manage nursing operations, develop care plans, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. The DON will play a key role in fostering a positive environment for both residents and staff, while upholding the highest standards of resident rights and care. Duties Lead and manage the nursing department to ensure efficient operations and high standards of care. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet their medical and emotional needs. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA guidelines. Conduct regular assessments of resident health status and oversee the management of medical records. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care strategies and outcomes. Provide training and support to nursing staff on best practices in assisted living, hospice care, and home care settings. Monitor adherence to resident rights policies and advocate for the needs of residents within the facility. Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, MDS (Minimum Data Set), and other relevant healthcare documentation. Experience A valid nursing license (RN) with significant experience in nursing management or leadership roles within assisted living or nursing home settings. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and experience with care plans. Familiarity with hospice care practices and regulations governing resident rights. Proven ability to lead a team effectively while promoting a culture of respect, compassion, and excellence in patient care. Experience in conducting training sessions for staff on clinical best practices is preferred. The Director of Nursing will be an integral part of our commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services while ensuring the well-being of our residents.
