The Director of Simulation serves as a collaborative leader on the Nursing and Nurse Anesthesia education team, guiding the development and implementation of high-quality simulation and laboratory experiences that enhance student learning and clinical competence. The Director of Simulation will have responsibility over the lab; maintaining all supplies, set up, tear down based on the curriculum needs. This candidate must possess exceptional communication skills as they will be interacting with faculty and students routinely. This position reports to the Chair of the Nursing Department and Director of the Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Develops, implements, updates, and monitors simulation lab policies, procedures, use, and operation. Monitors and schedules use, signing out, and movement of simulation lab equipment Develops, presents, evaluates, and refines scenarios for simulation experiences, utilizing role playing, props, and dialogue to create a realistic learning environment Develops, implements, and operates clinical simulation to meet accreditation standards Creates and maintains a respectful and professional working environment, incorporating active learning, reflective thinking, and a confidential debriefing process Performs data analysis to evaluate learning and satisfaction with the provision of services Continuously updates and refines simulation experiences based on identified needs and to serve as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation in classroom/lab activities Monitors and maintains lab inventory, completes equipment orders and reorders each semester. Ensures the safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials Monitors and assures appropriate standards of lab cleanliness, provides for equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement Models professional standards, including customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, and attendance Works closely with faculty to appropriately integrate lab operations, obtain maximum utilization for the most efficient expenditure, and to moderate student costs Monitors evaluation of simulation experience and collects data for annual program reports Maintains Simulation Center budget in coordination with Nursing Department and DNAP Program Chairs/Directors Performs other duties as requested

Education/Qualifications:

Two or more years of experience working in simulation in an education institution or equivalent setting preferred. Interest in healthcare simulation along with pursuing healthcare simulation knowledge and education Understanding of AV systems software Use of PC, the Internet, simulation equipment, and basic nursing equipment Exceptional interpersonal skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team In order for applications to be fully processed, a cover letter, resume, and contact information for at least three professional references must accompany a completed application.
