The Director of Nursing (DON) provides leadership to the Healthcare Department to ensure that Trillium Place by Tandem Living standards, policies, and procedures are maintained and that supportive and person directed care is provided. The DON position is performed in accordance with

QUALIFICATIONS
Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania (PA).
Five (5) years of experience in a RN Charge/Supervisor role or previous DON experience.
Preferred Director of Nursing experience in a Continuing Care Retirement Community setting.
Basic computer skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Develops written policies, procedures, and standards with special attention given to quality of life and care issues. Communicates policies, procedures, and standards clearly to all nursing staff and ensures follow-through with appropriate accountability methods.
Performs the following management functions: interviews prospective employees; monitor the Performance Appraisal process; resolves staff problems in consultation with Director of HR; addresses morale issues, monitors Trillium Place staffing requirements; addresses turnover issues; conducts monthly RN, LPN and CNA meetings; ensures appropriate RN Supervision; maintains high visibility; provides budget input with cost containment measures; maintains required departmental documentation.
Addresses significant family problems, issues, and/or concerns in consultation with the Nursing Home Administrator.
Strategically plans, prioritizes, organizes, implements, and delegates job responsibilities with a high degree of exactness. Attends to quality of care and quality of life issues.
Establishes antibiotic stewardship standards to help ensure antibiotics are prescribed only when appropriate. Coordinates with Antibiotic Stewardship Task Force, Infection Prevention and physicians regarding policies and procedures for use of antibiotics.
